An obscure and early entry in the Southern Gothic genre, preceding Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury by six years. Fuller's stories convey a deep personal feeling toward the region, and an awareness of its uncanny and elusive nature. Bound in blue cloth over boards with painting titling in pink and green to upper cover and spine. Mild rubbing to corners, else near fine in a near fine dust wrapper, barely chipped and with mild sunning at spine. With the bookplate designed by Paul Landacre for George Cukor, acclaimed director of The Philadelphia Story, the Judy Garland iteration of A Star Is Born, and My Fair Lady.
