Oblong octavo. (16)pp. Each page illustrated with lithographs either in sepia or in brilliantly saturated color. In his dream, the titular Peter explores the Palace's curated grounds where he encounters a merry-go-round, hot air balloons, a skating rink, and strange amphibians emerging from a lake. Inside the halls of the Palace he finds wonders in each exhibit, which here appear named exactly as they had in actual fact. Among them are the Pompeian Court, the Egyptian Court, and the Wurtemberg Gallery of Stuffed Animals. The result is a dreamy (in many senses) souvenir preserving the experience of one of the most famous structures erected for a World's Fair. Bound in pictorial boards backed in blue cloth. Mild exterior soiling and rubs to corners, inch-long split to front inner hinge, else near fine. Scarce, with only seven records in OCLC.
