A single bifold sheet, with a pochoir-printed border in gray and Christmas greeting in red. Held in a paper envelope with matching border. John W. Borden was a San Francisco-based book collector and amateur printer, forming an extensive collection of books by Thomas Bewick and operating his own "In Time Press." He was a long-time member and officer of the Book Club of California and Roxburghe Club, serving as master of the press for the latter from 1971 to 1973. Though Dwiggins was centered on the east coast and died in 1956, when Borden was newly entering the world of fine printing, the two might have connected through the retrospective exhibition of Dwiggins' work at the Book Club of California, held a year before his death. All materials fine.
