Marqusee frames Baskin's drawings as an anti-scientific response to the diagrammatic depictions of the human figure that have long accompanied medical texts, from Vesalius onward. Instead, Baskin, by the vigor of his style, communicates the visceral and sometimes brutal reality of having a body at all. Sheets housed in custom box with supportive wood edges.
