Five handwritten ALs sent by Lynd Ward to an unknown Mr. Fletcher. The first three letters describe a prolonged purchase of the print "Cup of Sky." The last two provide Ward's measured replies to Fletcher's apparent inquiry regarding the possibility of working with him on a bibliography of his work. The correspondence provides an intriguing look at the later years of Ward's career, hinting at his later preference for producing solo prints over books, the overlap between the two media, and the enormity of the task to catalogue the oeuvre. Ward refers specifically to Dan Burne Jones, who would publish a bibliography of Rockwell Kent and had at the time laid claim to cataloguing Ward's work, to the seeming detriment of Fletcher. All letters fine.
