16mo. 77, (3)pp. At the front flyleaf Houseman has written an original, and apparently otherwise unrecorded, poem. Frontispiece photograph of the lead actress, Gertrude Kingston. Both Kingston and Housman here vocal, artistic, and at times physical supporters of women's suffrage; Housman's adaptation of Lysistrata dramatizes the cause, amplifying the original's enfranchisement of women's political power. Explicating the point are the publisher's advertisements at the final pages, which call for votes for women, list political pamphlets, and compile Housman's other works. Bound in green cloth over boards with gilt titling to upper cover. Trace rubbing and few bumps, light fading to spine, offsetting at rear flyleaf and pastedown, else very good.
