Two damask napkins, showing Escher's clever, fractal design of seahorses and fish. The textile enhances the design's effect: when reversed, the natural weave of the fabric causes the colors of the design to likewise swap. These are the "first edition" of this later adaptation of Escher's 1950s image. Very fine. (23 1/2 by 23 1/2 in.)
