Octavo. 49, (8)pp + 4 inserted plates. Plates, plus frontispiece, are aquatints, an appropriate medium in response to Lovecraft's aqueous mythology. Included as epilogue is Lovecraft's A History of the Necronomicon (An Outline), along with an ersatz facsimile of Lovecraft's fictional grimoire. Printed in Bembo and Desdemona types on Guarro paper, with aquatints on Arches Text. Originally Morrow-Cribbs planned to execute the illustrations on kitikata, but found the result too transparent; a sample of that printing is laid in. In a quarter vellum binding by Claudia Cohen featuring the patterned boards painted by the printer and printed by the artist. Housed in a cloth folding case containing the extra prints and the etching plate in separate chemises. Very fine.
