Octavo. (9)pp, accordion fold. Sandlin's "visual exploration of the inner world of Catholic guilt" compiles screenprint images into a catalogue of grotesque, comic, and engrossing figures, all of which lure the afflicted in with promises of satisfactions of the flesh. The nine panels reflect, implicitly, Dante's nine circles of hell. Tellingly, most of the images use the imagery of money, so that Catholic guilt slips into "capitalist guilt." Light rubs at fore-edge, else fine.
