Wood engraving on paper. A domestic farmyard scene is here presented by Ward in his characteristically expressionist style. This was among the last prints offered by The Woodcut Society, which ceased operations in 1954. The Society had been created in 1932 by Alfred Fowler, with the purpose of promoting and disseminating prints, which often took the form of "Presentation Prints" given to various municipalities and museums.
