Folio. (31)pp. With 26 leaves of plates, each one by a different illustrator. On the one hand, the compilation asserts the 20th-century American illustration scene as a significant contributor in the history of book art, and on the other it is a passing of the torch from one generation of those illustrators to the next. A dedication print by Lynd Ward begins the suite, alongside an introduction by Leonard Baskin. What follows are prints, each in their own printed folder, by Fred Becker, Jack Coughlin, John DePol, Fritz Eichenberg, Raymond Gloeckler, James Grashow, Judith Jaidinger, Stefan Martin, Michael McCurdy, Barry Moser, Gillian Tyler, and Herbert Waters. All held in four-flap archival chemise. Fine.
