Quarto. 32ff + four plates. Illustrated with a frontispiece etching and three duotones by Julia Ferrari, who, together with the poet, Dan Carr, founded and operated the Golgonooza Type Foundry and Press. This suite of poems was inspired by the symbolic alphabets of the Celtic bards, with particular emphasis on exploring the relationship between letterforms and nature. The Regulus type used in this work was hand-cut at Golgonooza, thus deepening that symbiosis. With the bookplate of Theo Rehak, who was the last person trained in typefounding by the American Type Founders before its bankruptcy, and operated the Dale Type Foundry in New Jersey - the last of its kind in the United States. Bound by Ferrari in pastepaper over boards featuring an abstract design. Small bump to lower front cover, else very fine. Prospectus laid in.
