The color illustrations, which are contemporary renderings of ancient Mesopotamian art, are by Harold Kimmelman. Bound in quarter blue niger goatskin with five raised bands (the only Bird & Bull book bound with laced-in cords) and tan cloth over boards. According to the Bird & Bull Bibliography (A6), Henry Morris completed the sewing and leather skiving for the book with the intention of working with a friend to bind all 200 copies, but after 60, he sent the remainder to Sangorski & Sutcliffe in London to finish. Those copies were stamped by the bindery and were sold first "unless the other is requested." This is one of the 60 bound by Morris and his friend, with clear differences from the Sangorski & Sutcliffe version, from the leather color to the finishing work.
