Chief among the evidence for this is the fact of this book, which Yeats convinced Synge to allow Cuala to publish in a limited edition, as it was set to go to Maunsel & Co. Synge died while the book was in production, and Miller (pp. 56-62) cites correspondence between Synge and Elizabeth Yeats that concerned the layout of the text, on which Emery Walker provided much guidance.
