Octavo. 432pp. Line drawings throughout. The first state, with text block achieving the requisite 1 1/8" bulk and conjugate opening leaves. Bound in full brown cloth over boards with decorations in black and titling in gilt. Moderate rubs to edges and corners, some foxing to flyleaves, mild soiling to upper edge of text block, though brown speckles still show through nicely. A square, very good copy. Stamp of the Christ Lutheran Church in Flushing, New York to front pastedown; an intriguing institutional commendation (and then deaccession). (BAL 3442)
