A gathering of the Golden Cockerel Press's bibliographies, here in deluxe editions and thus emblematizing the firm's complementary commitments to limited fine printings and a commercial outreach to a general audience. All feature illustrations from the books throughout. The first in the series, Chanticleer, documents April 1921 to August 1936 and is one of 300 copies, this one unsigned but numbered. Pertelote covers October 1936 to April 1943 and is one of 200, and is signed by Christopher Sandford and Owen Rutter. Cockalorum addresses June 1943 to December 1948, is one of 250, and is signed by Sandford. The final installment, Cock-a-Hoop concludes with September 1949 to December 1961, is one of 300, and is signed by Sandford and David Chambers. All volumes bound in quarter leather with patterned cloth over boards, though of ranging color pairings. Spines of Chanticleer and Pertelote sunned, of Cock-a-Hoop less so, and of Cockalorum not at all. Bumps to corners of the former pair, plus stray soiling, and these vg- to vg. Latter two with stray rubs, else near fine.
