16mo. (61)ff. Small format autograph book produced by the Roycroft Shop for commercial sale. This copy bears the ownership inscription of Edna Hammersmith, and is signed by numerous personnel working at the Roycroft Shop during this period, many of whom were women. While scant evidence exists as to employment rosters from Elbert Hubbard's enterprise, one can deduce from cross-referencing some of the names that Hammersmith worked in the Print Shop - possibly as an illuminator. Several floral watercolors appear throughout, signed "E.B.H," and others have added their art to their signatures. Also includes the autograph of Ida Metcalf - one of Hubbard's more prolific illuminators. Also signed by Hubbard's first wife, Bertha, and their son, Ralph. Bound in customary limp suede with Roycroft printer's device blind-stamped in upper cover; watered silk endleaves. Small unobtrusive stain to lower spine, touch of sunning to extremities, else nearly fine.
