Small quarto. (iv), 39, (1)pp. A reprinting of advisements and guidance for Justices of the Peace first printed in 1536. Wiggins-Davies acknowledges the support, both aesthetically and technically, of St. John Hornby, of the Ashendene Press, whose influence is apparent in the book's recruitment of red ink for headers and rules and its affection for neo-medieval typography. Bound in half-leather with tan cloth over boards. Mild rubs along extremities, else near fine. Prospectus laid in, which ties the subject of the book and its production to the war effort, noting that a profit from the sale of the edition will be forwarded to The Birmingham Magistrates Poor Box Fund.
