Small quarto. xxi, (iii), 300pp. Wood engravings throughout by Moser bridge in their expressiveness the fantasy and reality of Homer's canonical epic, and provide fitting visual regiment to T. E. Shaw's (a.k.a. T. E. Lawrence's) translation. Bound by Barbara Blumenthal in full linen over boards with cut-out at upper cover showing Moser's portrait of Penelope cut into strips and then re-sutured with red and white threads. The portrait, notably, does not appear in the book. With Blumenthal's ticket to lower pastedown and her signature at the colophon. Fine. Housed in dropback box.
