The true first, issued by Gorham Press twenty years earlier, had not had a terrific run, and Cather had bought up the remainders and destroyed them. This Knopf edition bears considerable deletions and revisions. Bound in handmade paper printed with flowers over boards backed in plain paper. Modest edge rubbing and mild soiling toward spine, hinge starting between pp. 54-55, else a very good presentation of Cather's efforts in verse. In slipcase. (Crane A2.a)
