Small quarto. (ii), 28, 33pp. A copy of the original report by Johnson and Kernighan on the basic functions and operations of "B," a computing language created by Kernighan and D. M. Ritchie. The given report appends to their initial design the particular version developed by Johnson, which adapted "B" for the Honeywell 6070 computer. "B" is the parent language of "C," which persists as the fundamental code structure for most computing, certainly those offered to the lay public. "C" is likewise represented in the set, in a matching format and with 30, 27, 23pp. This report by C's first developers precedes the first published book on the language, which did not appear until 1978. Copies similarly bound in white wrappers with Bell Laboratories branding. Stray motes of soiling, minimal rubbing, else near fine copies of extremely scarce, foundational texts.
