Four octavo vols. viii, 389; xxiv, 467; xvi, 431; xxiv, 415pp. A massive biblio-apotheosis of Scotland's eminent poet, organized with introductions, tables of contents, indexes, and glossaries, these useful for those a wee bit unfamiliar with Burns's affection for his native dialect. Comprising poetry, correspondence, histories of Burns's writing and life, and remarks on the general state of Scotland into which he was born and then worked. In original boards of blue marbled paper backed in brown of the same, with paper spine labels and retaining original silk bookmarks. General rubs along edges, some foxing to interiors but unobtrusive, some light staining to lower corners of first and second volumes, and final sheets of third. A noble set.
