Square 32mo. (56)pp. Propaganda posing as an alphabet for children, with versos citing terms (mostly virtues) which enshrine the supposed moral rectitude and nationalistic nobility of the Vichy state, as embodied by Philippe Pétain. Photographs of the Maréchal show him leading a gaggle of children ("Promenade"), inspecting Vichy boy scouts as if they were troops ("Revue"), and standing before a Vichy flag ("Amour"). Bound in blue, white, and red wrappers decorated with double-sided axes, which was one of chief symbols of the puppet government. Light rubs to corners, else near fine. Only one institutional holding.
