24 cards, each with a chromolithographed illustration of its given animal. Beneath these are questions prompting the young zoologist to consider and articulate the behaviors, environments, and features of the animals along with their relations to humans. The questions range from the general - Where is the reindeer found? What does a chamois eat? In what seasons are squirrels active - to the more opinionated. Among the latter are such probing queries as: Are monkeys of any use? What will you do with a polar bear? and What will you do with a horse when he dies, if you want to make money? Cards show expected rubbing to corners and some general staining and foxing. held in paper sleeve with illustrated label, this rubbed and with previous owner's signature and pen marks. Apparently unrecorded and apparently complete, save for perhaps an instruction sheet. Good+.
