The School, like so many others of the period, was founded with the intention of re-educating Indigenous American youth and forcing them into the homogenized mould of the white settler. Included in the curriculum were vocational skills, printing among them: a notable inheritance from the foundations of American print culture with the Algonquin Bible, also manufactured by Indigenous printers. Here the students have produced a transliteration of the life of Abraham Lincoln and Aesop's fables. Bound in plain printed wrappers. Some creasing along spine, else near fine.
