16mo. Ten envelopes bound in chronological series. Each envelope, variously hand-colored, has a photocollage at its back, reproducing photographs, handwritten notes, and news clippings pertaining to Crone's family members. Within the envelopes are copies of letters actually sent from grandparents to Crone's mother, from Crone's father to her mother after their separation, and from Crone's parents and step-parents offering (or in most cases not) support. A vulnerable family archive, in which Crone reckons with her memories of recovery from an alcohol addiction, grief at her mother's suicide, and complicated affections and confusions toward her elders. Envelope folds and companion covers fashioned after a method taught by Hedi Kyle at Women's Studio Workshop. Near fine in tea-stained wrappers, slightly rubbed at edges. With red paper sleeve.
