Serigraph in two colors on paper measuring 19.5 by 27 inches. Cipriano Dourado's image of the dove of peace outlined in red frames Urbano Tavares Rodrigues's text, which appears to outline the ideological framework for the Conselho Português para a Paz e Cooperação (CPPC). Formed in the wake of the Carnation Revolution of 1974/5, the CPPC remains an active NGO advocating for global disarmament and national sovereignty. Both Dourado and Rodrigues actively opposed the fascist dictatorship that ruled Portugal for four decades, with Rodrgues having been imprisoned by Salazar's notorious secret police in 1963 and 1968. Dourado's dove was also used in a poster announcing a CPPC summit entitled "Cooperação Económica Independência Desenvolvimento Paz" which was held in early 1975. This poster has the same printing line in the lower right margin, suggesting that the edition of 9900 copies may have been printed for use with a variety of texts. Tiny tear and a few shallow wrinkles along extremities; overall fine.
