Three octavo volumes. 624; 44; (82)pp. The text volume is printed in Caslon Old Style, the typeface of the original edition, and bound in gilt-titled green half leather with hand-marbled boards. The illustrations are photo-collages by John Baldessari, contained in a separate volume, bound as an 82-page panorama in gilt-titled green boards, and signed by the artist. A third volume contains "Laurence Sterne and Tristram Shandy," an essay by Melvyn New, who edited the text, and some of the original Hogarth illustrations. Spines sunned, mote of foxing to outer edge of panorama, else all three volumes are vg+ to near fine, housed in a green slipcase. With publisher's prospectus.
