Small quarto. 29, (2)pp. Here reprinted from the original 1637 edition is Milton's now-canonical entry into the dramatic genre of the maske, a private play with moral force, here with the added evocation of Sabrina, the nymph of the eponymous river. Printed in black and red by Clarke Conwell and with title pages designed by his wife, Helen Marguerite O'Kane. The Elston Press, like its neighbors, the Roycrofters, owed many of its aesthetic preferences and creative ethos to William Morris. Bound in blue cloth over boards. Modest rubs to corners and lightly along joints, else very good. Bookplate of former owner to front pastedown.
