16mo. (24)pp. Printed on prepared cloth and marketed as part of a series of indestructible books. Each page devoted to a single letter (save W and X, and Y and Z, which are together) and ornamented with a floral border and detailed wood engraving as visual accompaniment to the supplementary text. Each letter is related in some way to a character from a nursery rhyme, fairy tale, or other children's story; those mentioned include King Arthur, Little Red Riding Hood, and Jack Horner. Bound in cloth wrappers dyed pink. Some soiling to covers but interior clean. A near fine copy.
