95pp., + 5ff. plates. Illustrated with a frontispiece and four clear, detailed engravings showing scenes from the life of Christ. This diminutive children's prayer book in Spanish contains the text of the Mass and prayers for Sunday Vespers. This appears to be a Spanish translation of Firmin Didot's popular Petit Paroissien de L'Enfances, and this title saw publication under several different imprints around 1850-1860, characterized by a higher page count and one additional plate. Bound in likely original pale crimson velvet with mother-of-pearl cover panels, the upper cover featuring a relief of a chalice. Silk doublures and endleaves. A.e.g. Spine slightly faded, else fine. (1 1/16 by 7/8; 27x21mm).
