16mo. (viii), 32; (30)pp. Sammelband of two titles published by Scholz with the same premise. Both present an ABC for young readers, with the aid of hand-colored engravings. The first alphabet uses images of animals - a dog, a deer, a hippo, and an ibis - to make its impression, while the other is more inventive, with F for "Fusil" and the image of two children puzzled by a flintlock rifle, and X for "Xylographie" and a picture of a block-printed book. Bound together in black cloth over thin boards with gilt ornamentation. Rebacked, with professional repairs to hinges and some paper edges. Good+ and scarce, with only one copy of the sammelband and one additional copy of Alphabet in OCLC.
