14-panel double-sided accordion. The front features George Ellis's Almanack, which replaces the month names with adjectives, such as "Snowy" for January and "Droppy" for September. Each month is further represented by an illustration pulled from 18th-century chapbooks by Maryline Poole Adams, who designed and bound the book. The back of the accordion contains the traditional rhyme highlighting auspicious months for a wedding that starts: "Marry when the year is new, he'll be loving, kind and true." Both sides hand-colored, and the whole bound in full black leather with red leather onlays and gilt stamping. Lacking slipcase, else fine. (2 1/4 by 1 7/8; 57x48mm).
