This presentation, combined with the miniature format, suggests these were used as flash cards for familiarizing children with key Biblical texts. Loose in a small, book-shaped decorative case designed to look like a miniature Bible, covered in black paper stamped in gold  ("Biblia" on the "front cover" and "spine," plus a cross on the "back cover"). A.e.g. The cards are contained in the spine section, which pulls off. The whole is housed in an original cardboard slipcase covered in marbled paper. 2 1/2 by 2 inches; 73 x 51 mm (slipcase) and 1 1/2 by 2 inches; 50 x 32 mm (cards). Not in Spielmann, Welsh, or Bondy.
