96pp. A book about the joys of the countryside, illustrated with an engraved title-page and seven additional full-page engravings of pastoral scenes bound in as plates. "A children's book of great charm," observes Spielmann. This copy is notably (for a miniature) wider than others recorded in institutions, thanks to the pages being unopened and hence untrimmed. Other copies are bound in boards or cartonnage, but this is in what are likely the publisher's green wrappers, pre-binding or to be bound by the collector. Light rubs along edges, expected offsetting from plates, else very good. Held in marbled paper chemise and slipcase, the later with added structural supports. William Macy Stone's copy. (Welsh 5726; Spielmann 416). (2 1/18 by 2 3/4; 53x65mm.).
