Illustrated by Gorey in celebration of the sesquicentennial year of The Register, a newspaper covering the towns of Barnstable, Dennis, and Yarmouth, Massachusetts, and featuring seabound figures in rain slickers gazing out to unknown vistas, while standing atop a turnip which bears the dates (that area of Cape Cod has been historically known for turnip farming and Eastham hosts a Turnip Festival every year).
