Octavo. (20)pp. This tale of the escapades of a gang of noble outlaws features three pop-ups, one at the center and two at the insides of the covers. Unfortunately two of these, and much of the story, depict the Chinese character using racist imagery and language. Issued by Pleasure Books, an offshoot of Blue Ribbon Books, as part of a spate of pop culture adaptations with dynamic and colorful paper constructions. Bound in pictorial boards. Rubbing to edges and some chipping at spine, deep crease to lower cover, light red crayon to frontispiece. A good copy, with all pop-ups fully functional.
