His affinity for Parnell stems from both men's negotiations of their Anglo-Irish identities, certainly a difficult position for Robinson who aligned himself with the Irish nationalistic cause but was not "quite" Irish. Bound in quarter buckram with gray-blue paper over boards. Glancing bumps to corners else a near fine copy in publisher's original paper dust wrapper, this somewhat soiled and minimally chipped. Laid in is a check from and remittance acknowledgement to a former owner, J. H. Stallworthy, likely enough the British poet and Oxford professor. (Miller 39)
