A miniature triptych which opens up to: a pocket holding an eight-page booklet reciting in brief the history of Nantucket; an extending sculpture of the Great Point Light, hand-colored; and another pocket holding a bifold pop-up of a cape house. An assemblage in due homage to one of New England's most historic islands, certainly a bucket of Nantucket. Jacobs explains that a Nantucket Bucket is literally a boil of steamers, mussels, and corn on the cob - even the cobbled, kernel-like facade of the lighthouse and the opening booklets recall the required elements of the Bucket. Bound in marbled papers. House in sleeve of matching paper with three-dimensional bucket emerging. Fine. (2 5/8 by 2 5/8 in.)
