John Eliot and printed inCambridge, MA by Samuel Green and Marmaduke Johnson with the assistance of Wawaus, a member of the Nipmuc Tribe who was apprenticed to Green. The introductory essay by George Parker Winship gives an account the undertakings by the translator and the printers. The leaf, mounted on a stub, is from Exodus 29:21 - 30:23, whichconcerns the consecration of Aaron and his sons as priests, as well as the establishment of the altar of incense. In deep maroon cloth-backed boards, covers gilt-stamped with fleuron and lozenge motifs, title gilt-stamped on spine. Extremely light rubbing to corners and spine ends. Leaf shows light, uniform marginal soiling, Bookplates. Near fine overall. (Chalmers 45).
