Quarto. 40pp., + 4ff. samples of paper made by Reg Lissel and 4ff. of specimens of the metal types held at Heavenly Monkey. The deluxe edition also includes a limited, signed portrait of Lissel by Andrea Taylor, additional paper samples, and an original Doves Press leaf bound in. This last is in addition to the four leaves from works influential to the press are bound in, dating from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries. Represented therein are Henricvm Dendrinvm of Amsterdam, Longmans of London, The Riverside Press of Boston, and Robert Reid and Takao Tanabe of Vancouver. Bound by Claudia Cohen in black and white paste paper with a design of the press's initials, backed with gilt-ruled morocco. An extremely fine discussion of the art of the book.
