Oblong quarto. Booklet in wrappers, 10pp, accompanied by two folded sheets from the 1978 Atlas de Cuba, each one overprinted with silkscreen. The images convey the conflicted historical portrait of Cuba: the Atlas had been produced for the 20th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, a silhouette of the American Embassy recalls the Bush administration's 2004 embargo against Cuba, and stamped quotations and reproductions of photographs derive from Barack Obama's 2016 visit to Havana. Daiber himself was present for Obama's arrival, the first by a sitting United States President in over 80 years. In 2026, a decade later, the situation has again changed, reverting to the embargoed situation of the 2000s. Essays in the booklet from Daiber and others elaborate on the awe that accompanied Obama's visit. Read now, they seem from another world entirely. Booklet and sheets held in chemise covered with light blue silk. Very fine.
