Octavo. 12pp. Hand-colored and multi-media collages by Jordán embellish poetry on Cuban masculinity and fatherhood; the metaphorical and literal intensity of hurricanes, and the Kafkaesque relationship between the individual and the Cuban state. Ediciones El Fortín was Jordán's own publishing venture after his departure from Ediciones Vigía, and has proved often more materially and textually experimental. Text in both English and Spanish, with translation into the former by David Frye. Bound in stiff card with paper collage to both covers and front edge covering of cloth and yarn. Held in matching bag, likewise of heavy card and with paper collage and long textile handles, plus sealed envelope to verso. Some rubs, expected fraying to textile elements, else very good.
