(22)ff + 2 blank boards at center + fold-out calendar tipped-in at rear. The title page and subsequent, conveniently spaced pages show colored engravings appropriate to each month's agricultural and recreational attractions: ice skating in January, haphazard (and somewhat illicit) apple-picking in June, and gathering firewood in November. While the paper pages lend themselves to monthly records, the interior boards are devoted to the days of the week and are designed to be easily used and reused with the accompanying stylus plus nib. Evidence thereto, suitably erased, is present. Rear fold-out printed in green, with days assigned to their given saint. Bound in boards edged and adorned with stamped nickel set above blue velvet. Silk doublures both feature pockets. Stylus snugly slides into metal fore-edge loops, one of which is missing. Minimal soiling, apparent chiefly at silk, rubs to velvet, mostly on front board, previous owner's pencil marking to initial two pages and front doublure. Very good. A.e.g. (2 7/8 by 2 in.)
