Lubran was a school headmaster by day and miniature book enthusiast by night, so this book represents a confluence of two parts of his life. He was additionally a member of the British Printing Society, and in this volume, he is experimenting with a new plate-making process called Nyloprint, which he describes on page 1 of the text.
