A set of 12 cards, still in the unopened foil wrapper and still with the condom that was issued with all packs. All with painterly illustrations completed on rectos and considerable expository text on versos. The cards encompass the cultural, medical, and political scope of the AIDS crisis. Subsections highlight "People with AIDS" (Arthur Ashe, Freddie Mercury, Robert Mapplethorpe, "Jane Doe"); "Medical Facts" ("Who gets AIDS?" and the particularly famous "How to put on a condom"); "Other Sexually Transmitted Diseases"; "AIDS Affects the World"; and "The Fight Against AIDS" (which includes activists like Princess Diana and Madonna, as well as touchstone public displays of protest and support). An encapsulation of public art, graphic design, and print culture's response to emergency. Foil slightly sullied, else fine. Multiple packs available.
