Quarto. The boards open to reveal a pop-up spiral and two flap elements. Along the spiral are the names of various infections now preventable through vaccination - COVID-19, Polio, Diptheria, and others. The smaller flap serves as artist's statement and colophon, while the larger reproduces Roald Dahl's letter in which he grieves for his eldest daughter, Olivia, who died of measles. The letter turns from personal reflection toward social and political action, advocating for the use of vaccines in order to protect children from diseases to which they are vulnerable. Dahl's letter, penned in 1988, still rings an urgent bell. Constructed of Epson Matte and Hemptone paper. In paper-covered boards backed in black Japanese paper. Fine. Housed in slipcase.
