Twenty volumes, plus four volumes of the New Graphic Series, four volumes of the New Series, and the Annual of Bookmaking. Printed by various leading commercial and private presses of the day, volumes contain essays by H.L. Mencken, Edith Wharton, Rockwell Kent, William Kittredge, Theodore Drieser, Charles Chestnutt, and other major figures in twentieth-century literature and book scholarship. The volumes are extensively illustrated, and the original series' oft-missing Milne and Baumann prints ("Hilltop: A Drypoint in Two Colors" and "An Eagle Ceremony at Tesuque Pueblo," respectively) remain intact, with the Milne print signed by the artist. Original series housed in the publisher's quarter pigskin and cloth slipcases, which show some drying and toning. Overall a fine set. Separate volumes from later series show some light wear and toning. May require extra shipping charges.
