Oblong quarto. 26ff., each printed with a silhouette in black and a verse in red on rectos only. Of Koch's three silhouette books, this first installment depicts the operations of the type foundry with verses by Koch describing operations set in Kochschrift, his first type design for Klingspor. This title was included in the 1963 Printing and the Mind of Man exhibition, and was reissued by the Arion Press in 1982. This particular binding project began when Cohen came upon sheets of the book in the basement of the Klingspor Museum. These Cohen bound in full tan leather with gilt rules and silhouette of a printer at his task as black leather onlay. Spine titling in gilt on black leather with red accents. A fine, and finely bound, homage to the trade. Held in black dropback box with matching spine label.
