Small quarto. 80pp. Engravings by Rorer throughout evoke the comical illustrations which frequently accompanied Twain's publications at their original debuts. The works are nevertheless studious; Rorer had looked over books on Victorian and Edwardian fashion in order to accurately portray each character with appropriate sartorial personality. The engravings were carved from Corian, a material commonly used for kitchen countertops. Bound in quarter black cloth with patterned paper over boards. Fine. Housed in slipcase.
